It's been a month since I've blogged and Kristy has really ballooned! I haven't visited Kristy for probably three weeks and what a difference. Anyways.... The last month has been very busy for me; work has supplied me with a steady supply of O/T, and on the days that I'm not working I haven't had any difficulty finding ways to fill the time.

Probably the most exciting time of the past month was taking some of the older youth from the youth group to a conference called Youth Alert. It is held in Sexsmith, AB, which is about a 2 1/2 hr drive from FSJ. The weekend extended from Friday evening until Sunday afternoon when we made our way back. There were approx. 500 youth from around Alberta, BC, Saskatchewan, and the Northwest Territories. It is held at PRBI (Peace River Bible Institute) and the students at PRBI use it as an opportunity to gain the experience of hosting a youth convention and learning discipleship skills. There were lots of fun activities for the youth including sports such as volleyball, basketball, and hockey. My girls got second in volleyball, and the boys got third.

The speaker for the weekend was Sam Rowland, he spoke about "getting real" with God. I was very impressed with his speaking. He was relevant with the youth and connected with them on a real level. The biggest blessing for me came when one of my young ladies went up to re-affirm her relationship with Christ at the last 'rally' or speaking session. I'm finding myself to have more and more of a passion for these young people. I truly love them and desire for them to walk forward in Christ and like Paul says, to move and have their being in Him.

In other exciting news....I'm on my way to Florida on March 19. I'm meeting up with Warren, Kerry and the girls in Orlando. We're going to stay down there for about 10 fun-filled days before I return to the cold north. Hopefully spring will have arrived when I get back. This last 10 days has been awful weather here in FSJ. Snow and wind and more snow and wind. Last weekend I went skiing at Powder King...truly lots of powder. It made skiing difficult and challenging but it was a blast. You didn't have to worry about falling after hitting some big jumps 'cause your landing in 2+ feet of powder snow and there's probably at least 10+ feet of snow before you'd ever hit bottom. It was so bad that I lost my ski after crashing once and was digging around in the snow for about 4 - 5 min before I found it totally buried a couple of feet under the surface. I was thinking that I'd have to pay for the lost rental.

Well...I have to go upstairs and try to put Hayley to bed....i'm over visiting Kristy and Hayley keeps wandering downstairs. I'll keep you updated.

How I Love my 2-4.

There's a certain time during each of my work tours (a tour being the current set of days and nights that I'm working) that I absolutely love and that is my two four or 24 or 2-4. It's the 24 hour break in between my last day shift and my first night shift. You see, today being Tuesday the 17th of January I worked from 6:00 am - 6:00 pm and tomorrow I don't work until 6 pm and work until 6 am Thursday morning.
The reason I so enjoy my 24 hour break is because it is the only day that I can sleep as long as I like without guilt or reservation. In fact the longer I can force myself to sleep the better, and I'm usually so tired by the time my 24 hour break comes because of the early 5 am wake ups for my day shifts (usually complimented by the fact that I am a night owl and am not in bed before 11pm often later if I'm playing hockey) that I can easily sleep for 12 - 15 hours. And I can tell you truthfully that when I wake up tomorrow morning I'll be smiling 'cause I'm simply going to close my eyes and go back to sleep.

Blistery Weather!

Just wanted to let everyone know that we're enjoying some quality winter up here in Fort St. John on January 10/07. The last couple weeks have been on average a balmy -5 Celcius and then last night the north wind picked up to 60+ km/hr and the snow started coming down and the temperature plummeted to -25 celcius with a wind-chill of -40 or -45. I was happily at work in a semi-warm environment although I had to do some shoveling at 6 am in order to get my car out of my parking spot. I hope that everyone who reads this is having a slightly better weather-wise day and we'll talk to you soon.

Summer Pictures

<img style="display:block; And I'll be back again in another six months (well...for you picky ones... maybe a year or more!)
First and foremost, I want to thank everyone for being so very forward with me and letting me know that you were still checking out my long-lost blog. And letting me know in no uncertain terms that I wasn't being a very forthcoming blogger and was in peril of being scrubbed from the list of blog-sites visited.
It has been such a long-time since I've updated my blog and let people know what's going on in my little corner of the world. Where does one start? I will keep this little update short here and well I'm not promising miracles, I will try to update this more often. To start with I'll go over my work situation (for those of you who care where I'm working and what I'm doing)
I just got hired full-time by Canfor. (Canadian Forest Products Ltd.) I am currently working in a pulp mill up here in Taylor, BC. That is just 15 minutes away from Fort St. John. I was originally simply running a "clamp" truck, basically a forklift with a diffent front-end attachment, in the warehouse and loading rail-cars with pulp. Since then I've trained up a couple of more positions. I can also work in the laboratory where we conduct top-secret tests on the pulp, or be in charge of the finishing line (that's back in the warehouse, maintaining the current running operations of the automated machines). It is an excellent job, the benefits being the pay, medical benefits, and my work schedule. (I work a five-on five-off shift) The negative is that half of my shifts are night shifts from 6pm - 6am which hampers a lot of weekends and get-together time with friends.
For recreation I'm playing some hockey. This year I'm actually playing forward compared to normally being in net. It's been a big stress reliever and I'm even getting some career numbers. For those of you who are keeping track of my points (which will be nobody but you can start) I had a six-point effort the other night (5 goals and an assist) in a 6-5 victory. Other than hockeyt, I'm going to try to get out skiing or snowboarding a couple of times this year.
Socially...i'm inept.
Mentally...ha! Well let's talk socially. I've been a loner lately...work (still at Canfor) before I was hired full-time was unpredictable as I was on a call-in basis and hired as a casual employee. But being hired full-time I now know my schedule for the whole year and I can decide if I want over-time or not. I will have more time now to say that yes I am available to do something this weekend so my social activity should pick up.
Actually today (being Dec. 24) I called up my cousin Wendy and with some other friends went and met at Timmy's for lunch....and that actually reminds me...we walked into Tim Hortons here in FSJ and I was first up to the counter and said pleasantly, "Hi, can I have a sandwich and a donut please." and the reply came, "Phhh!. I don't think so, we're closing early today!" Oh!! I thought, closing early at 4pm so they can't make a sandwich all day eh? After I asked the lady what I could have and she said a drink, I ordered a hot-chocolate. I was disappointed though. But that didn't ruin the day and after timmy's we went for a skate on an oval track. So it was a good social day for me.
Well, that'll be enough for tonight, it is Christmas eve and all. Mom and dad are practicing some songs for a christmas eve service right as we speak, or as I write. Dad is singing in a men's quartet and mom's playing the piano. I think that I just may go and watch the little production. Which reminds me (and I'm sorry for going on so long here) that we took the youth group carolling on Friday. For those of you who don't know, I help lead a youth group out in a rural area called Cecil Lake. I must say that Friday nights with those kids is the highlight of my whole week and last week carolling was no exception. We had a blast singing the christmas songs and they had a blast singing songs like "She thinks my tractors sexy" and a wide variety of other country songs.
Well, to all of you who will read this blog in the next little while I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I pray that God blesses you in the coming year, that he continues to make his face shine upon you, and that your joy may be in Him and be complete.
Terry

Hmmmm...

I realize that it's almost been two months since my last blog update...for that I apologize.
Life has been steadily passing me by in the last little while. It's been a routine of going to work, playing golf, hanging out with Kimberley and other family members, and once and only once yet, getting on the ice to play some hockey. Work has been steady but enjoyable. I now go to the gym 3 times a week in the AM before work when it's possible (that's if I'm not working the 7am shift). I go with a guy from work, it's free, and fun. I'm no longer the new person at work...we've gone through about 4 or 5 new people. I'm now an experienced worker in the Northern Metalic list of people ( kinda scary) They start to think that I should be able to do everything properly. I went to Camp Sagitawa with Kimberly this last weekend. It was wonderful fun. I had that trailer room sorta thing to myself and the only window in it was facing west so on Sunday AM (I got up properly on Sat.) I missed both breakfast bells and wandered out at 10:30. (I figured it was around 8:30) I got my sleep though.
Other exciting news...I shot my best round of golf (playing 9 holes) which was a 41. And I shot my best round of 18 shooting an 88 (45 on the front and 43 on the back) I got some dandy new books off of Amazon thanks to Jeff S. (oh and a nice CD) I reading through the Narnia series by C.S Lewis (thanks to Kim on my B-day) I'm almost done the fifth book...The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. My little niece Lauryn turned five a couple of days ago (Happy Birthday) she'll be going to school this year. And there's plenty of other stuff, just can't think of it right now. Hopefully I will be much more up-to-date on my next blog, which will hopefully be not to far away.
Oh...one other very exciting and nerve wracking and heart pounding thing happened recently. I was at Kim's company golf tournament and on the practice green of this particular golf club that radio station was having a putting contest. One putt to win a return trip from FSJ to Vancouver via Hawk Air for two. Well...I let some people putt before me to get a read on the green...hoping they didn't sink that putt (only one winner) then it was me. I stepped up to the ball and gave it a solid putting stroke. It went down the exact line i wanted it to....(the putt was about 30 feet or so) It curved gently in towards the hole and then.....dun dun da!! well...not it didn't go in, but do you know the expression that it lipped out. Yeah...that's what happened to me. it did this little wiggle as it started to drop into the side of the hole and then just lipped out around the back side...ohhh!!!! well...maybe this week...I don't think anybody sunk it.

Till later.

Enduring Hope

I just received two e-mails from very close friends. Both are seeking after the will of God in their lives. Both are striving to please God with the way they are living. Both are a bit apprehensive about new doors that have opened up for them. I'm compelled to write and encourage both of them.
Perfect love drives away fear. Why is that? What is it about love that compells us past our fears? What is it about love that is more powerful than fear? I don't pretend to know too much, but when I think about love and fear I see some contrasts. Fear seeks to isolate us. Love needs to be extended to others. Fear immobilizes, while love urges us into action. Fear leads to depression and heartache, while love, although it possibly may hurt, leads to joy and happiness.
My father read out of one of the Gospels this morning. It was the parable about the sheep and the goats. The sheep came before the throne of God and He told them that they had fed Him and clothed Him and visited Him while in prison. They asked, 'When?'. He answered that whenever they had done it to the least of these, my brothers, you have done it unto me. He eventually welcomed them into His Kingdom. The goats on the other hand, He said, did not clothe Him or feed Him or visit Him in prison. They were sent to an eternal punishment. The point of the story was that those who showed love and compassion were considered part of the Kingdom, while those who did not show love or compassions were not.
Both of you, my friends, have opportunities opened up to you to show love and compassion to others. Although the doors are different, the outcome remains the same. Sharing the love of Christ to a hurting and needy world. Let not fear isolate, immobilize or discourage you. Instead walk in a spirit of love, which conquers your fears. Be motivated, mobilized, and joyful with the opportunity you have been given. Remember the reward of faithful actions. A welcoming into the Kingdom of Heaven.
We have been called to an enduring hope. This is not something to be taken lightly. We live in a world that is covered in darkness as dark as the deepest night, and we have the truth that will light it up into day. We have a living hope that is real and relevant. We live not for the now, but for the now-after. Not for the world here, but the world to come. We have hope of being accepted as righteous in the Most Holy's eyes, if we but put down our personal wants and greeds and take hold of the truth that has been shown to us through Jesus Christ. We must fight fear with our love for Christ. Fear is the tool of the enemy, while love is the weapon of Christ. Let's examine our hearts to see how much we love our redeemer.
Be ye transformed by the renewing of the mind so that you may be able to tell what is the good, perfect and acceptable will of God. We need to think eternal guys. This life is but a short moment and the pleasures of this world, although some are meant to be enjoyed, are not to be sought after before we seek after Christ.
Just remember that God is in control of the events that are happening in your life. All things work together for those who love Him. His word shall be a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. I am so overjoyed with what God is working in your lives. I pray that he continually pours wisdom and revelation into your lives. I pray that his truths shall become pillars in your minds and souls. I pray that his leading shall be clear and his purpose made firm in your hearts. I pray that his goodness will shine upon you like a beacon of light that all around may see that you are a child of a living God.
We have been called unto something glorious and great. Let us not pass up the goodness of God because we are holding on to tightly to ourselves. Let us put off the old man and don on the new. Let us lay down our pride and be exalted by Him. Let us grasp at the things that are eternal in hope that when we see our maker we will hear him say, 'Well done, good and faithful servant. Come and enjoy my peace.'
Enduring but a moment of pain and suffering for the hope we have been given through our Lord and Saviour's sacrifice will be worth the eternal peace and love we will experience as our eternal reward. We have an enduring hope, let us not lose grasp of it. God bless you both!! Things have kept really busy around here. Between work and golf and baseball and a girlfriend it seems that I don't have any time to spare. Also in the last two weeks, two people who I knew passed away. One was my Great Uncle Henry and the other one was my Grade 1 + 2 teacher, Selma Gunther. I didn't get to attend Mrs. Gunther's funeral due to work, but I did take the afternoon off and go to Uncle Henry's.
There's a funny thing that happens at funerals, well to me anyways. I'm not sure if everyone's like this but most times at funerals, I come away inspired. Generally people go to a funeral to mourn the passing of a loved one, or support those friends who have lost a loved one. But we also go to celebrate the life that they led. My Uncle Henry funeral was like that for me. I mourned his loss but I was inspired to live a greater life. My Great Uncle left a legacy down here on earth. He may not be here anymore, but during his time he impacted hundreds if not thousands of people just in everyday life events. The life that he led, the words that he said, the actions that he took were all brought forth at his funeral. People came in order to respect his memory and the person he was. That's a humbling thought. It makes me want to live a good life so that when my time is up people will say; 'I remember that Terry, he always had a smile on his face and a laugh in his heart...remember when....' I don't believe we really know how are actions are impacting people. We may never even know how they did impact people, but we are constantly sewing seeds with our life.
It always seems to come out at a funeral. When that person is no longer there, then we reflect more clearly to what he had done in life and how we can learn from him. I thank my Uncle Henry for leading a life that was turned over to Christ. I thank him for pursuing his passion to serve Christ through music and to teach the love of Christ to his children. I thank him for his example to us, the younger generation, of how a life led by Christ is worth all the patience and suffering. Although I didn't spend enough time with him in this earthly life, I will one day get to thank him for the hope that he's given me by being who he was in Christ.
For now, I simply have to say, "Thanks Uncle Henry."

Battling Battleship?

This post is really late in comeing. For anyone who was interested in reading about my experience on Battleship Mountain, I humbly apologize. Well what is there to say about that May long-weekend? Here are the things I most enjoyed:
The incessant smoke in the eyes

Snuggling up beside Bonnie and Cam

Listening to Bon say she could hear deer teeth clicking as they ate..(2 am)

Seeing Jackie and Kristy sweat

Walking through thigh-deep snow

Boy oh boy...I tell ya...it was fun. And truth be told it was. The hike wasn't too bad at all. We had some girls slowing us men down, making it nice and easy. The scenery was absolutely beautiful, and truthfully I was quite amused at the snow...not so disappointed. The only problems I experience on my whole hike were wet feet and some incessant worries about bears. I suppose that some certain people...aka squirrel...might say that I was moping around on the weekend, not being my usual jovial self. And this particular person, who has a rodent like nickname, might say that it was because I was away from my girlfriend. It's all hog-wash though. I had a fun time...doing some fun things with some fun people. An A+ trip all-round and I'm definitely going to climb it again all the way to the peak this time.

The Tongue

Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen....But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God's holy people. Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving.

Ephesians 4:29, 5:3,4 (NIV)

With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brother, this should not be.

James 3:9,10 (NIV)

I'm going to take a hazardous guess and say that the tongue is our most destructive body part. If I were to ask the question, "Can you remember a time when someone hurt you?" I'm sure that the majority of people will remember a time when someone either said something mean to you, or went behind your back and betrayed your trust, or slandered your name and reputation. Each of these responses involve the use of the tongue as the destructive force. Now granted some of you might have said that so and so broke my arm when they pushed me or something to that degree, but it seems that our greatest hurts are not usually the physical ones but the emotional or spiritual ones. The hurts that generally come from the destructive force of someone else's tongue.
I get so mad at myself sometimes because I fail to control my tongue. It's not that I have a problem with swearing or gossip or slander. My area of weakness can be sarcasm or frivolty in joking around. One of my favorite lines seems to be, "Oh, come on, I'm just joking!" Why is it so hard to control the tongue? I suppose that a lot of us have different views on what it takes to control the tongue. Even within a group of "Christians" there could be a wide range of what is and what is not acceptable speech. It's unfortunate really because on issues such as this there should be no questions as to what is and what is not acceptable. The verses I mentioned above are just a couple out of the multitude of verses about the tongue and acceptable speech.
I'm coming to believe the verse in James 3 where he says that the tongue...corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.... Wow. Just look at "my favorite line" about "just joking around.". What has just happened? My tongue has taken on a hellish form to cruelly and spitefully tear someone down and make fun of something that they said or did. And as soon as the damage is done and I realize what has happened, that I have just hurt somebody, and my spirit within me is crying out remorse for what my tongue has done, it, my tongue, comes smoothly back into action to justify itself and try to put the blame on the other person for not being understanding.
The second problem with the tongue, besides that it always seeks to justify itself, which is contrary to what God asks of us, to...Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves... is that once spoken, words uttered by the tongue are forever gone. Once you have said those fatal words, whatever they may be, it's impossible to retrieve them, and usually you've opened up a little window into your soul for that person to see the carnal side that still resides within.
However, maybe not all is hopeless. The tongue is a double-edged tool. In the larger scheme of things, God has created us with the tongue to praise Him and encourage each other. In fact, it's our most powerful weapon after God's own word. That is also why it is so damaging. The greater ability for good that something has, the greater ability for evil it has as well. A cow has a very limited ability to show goodness and likewise has limited ability in the evil it can create. A human being on the other hand has a great ability to show goodness, yet at the same time has just as great of an ability to do create evil that can impact many people. A genius, even to a greater degree.
Satan has opened a door to use the things God has created in evil ways. The tongue, created to praise, can now curse. The tongue created for edifying, can now destroy. I am so grateful for the grace of God, but it is no excuse to continue in wrong-doing. The tongue, as well as every other body part, must come in line with the word of God. Although it seemingly has its own will at times I know that nothing is impossible because of the riches I've inherited through Jesus Christ. I've inherited power over sin, and an overcoming and conquering spirit which operates in love.
How true, to me, are the feelings of Isaiah in chapter 6:5, "Woe to me!" I cried. "I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty." But praise be to my God because like Isaiah, I have received a burning ember, a piece of coal, from the altar of God to remove the sin and guilt from my lips. Instead of having my lips burning with fire from hell, I can have them burnt with fire from the altar of God.
Lord let my lips and my tongue be once again cleansed by your Word and sacrifice, may they once again be used to praise you and edify my fellow brothers and sister. Let me not be robbed of good testimony because I let my tongue be controlled by anything else besides the Spirit of Christ through whom I live and move and have my being.

Crazy Kids!!

Last weekend I got to meet some of my girlfriends extended family. I think that her Grandma and Grandpa are pretty cool...in fact they lent me some Hardy Boy books that I've never read before. That's pretty well a miracle seeing as I've probably read 150+ Hardy Boy books. Her Aunts and Uncles were civilized and cordial. And then there are her younger cousins. I'm not sure how many she has in total, but six of them were at the BBQ.
I guess that one might say I have a knack at playing with and befriending kids. It just seems that wherever I go, if there's kids around, I just can't help but play with them and they can't help but play with me. It's rather embarassing at times. ie- when your at a church other then your home church and you have kids you don't know hanging off your legs trying to tackle you. Or, being me, I incite the kids to do something that their parents get them in trouble for and I have to pipe up that it was my fault. "Sorry".
Well, it was no different at this BBQ. At first it was grand...we all played a little bit of volleyball(this included Jeff and Kimberley), then I suggested that we have some races (always a favorite) and then we played tag. Harmless stuff really!! I then made my first mistake. I happened to hold one of Kim's nieces by the arms and swing her around. You know...like helicopter or whatever you call it. Instantly, every kid wanted to be swung around. Even John who must be 10 or 11. So started a vicious circle of kids yelling at me to be next and then complaining that one of their cousins had a longer time spinning or had spun more then they. I then commenced to make my second mistake (and by this time...Jeff and Kimberley had both left me to my own devices). I decided to tell them that I was tired and laid down in the grass. What time is it now? Dog-pile time of course. Not wanting to hurt anybody by forcing my way out from under them, I endured the pain like a man!! Eventually I wiggled my way out of the swarm of kids and was then duly rescued by Kim's aunts and uncles, whom I've never met before. Aye carumba...a little bit embarassing. I just hope that her family's not too worried about me!!

Cowboyin' Up

Howdy folks,
It just happened that last weekend was my workplaces staff appreciation day. Saturday, May 7th to be exact. Northern Metallic apparently always tries to have some sort of fun theme to their parties. This years theme was 'Western', and there was a prize for the best dressed western guy and gal. Knowing this in advance for quite a while, I had been subversively planning my winning strategy. It's funny now, but a couple of years ago I would never even have dreamed of trying to dress up. I suppose I would have been too self-conscious...ha...that's definitely gone out the door.
So anyways, the difficulty was that I, myself, have no western clothes to speak of. And being 6'2" and weighing in at a staggering 155lbs, well, you would think that I would have a hard time to borrow some clothes that fit properly. If you are actually agreeing with my last statement, you obviously don't know the Giesbrecht build. I simply picked one of my 70 cousins....well I narrowed it down to my 35 guy cousins and picked the ones who I knew would have a good selection of western gear.
To my rescue came Kyle and Lane. There are my younger twin cousins. And yes, they are both about 6'1" or 6'2" and weigh around 150-160 lbs. Excellent!! So they decked me out in the proper wrangling gear. I had decided to go for a more rustic cowboy look. Sort of like I had just been at a rodeo. I donned on my leg hugging wranglers, topped with the 'table-cloth' shirt. A red-white striped and checked western button up. I slipped on the "Most improved header" 2002 belt buckle...boy was it big and shiny. Grabbed a chocolate brown cowboy hat, and hauled on my cowboy boots complete with spurs. Yep, I looked like a cowboy, but something was missing. I still needed the rodeo look. And to my rescue came Lane once again. He brought out his well-used chinks (they are the same as chaps but about 3/4 the length) smelling like horse-sweat and a good lariat. I was ready to go!!
The party night came and I was feeling pretty confident. Well, I entered the room at the Northern Grade Inn and my confidence started to wane. Everybody was dressed up it seemed. From Western soldiers to gunfighters...I wasn't sure if my rodeo cowboy look would pull through. Luckily they had set up a roping station. I had been practicing with my cousing a couple of night before (Kyle and Lane both enter 'Heading and Heeling' competitions). I lassoed that practice steer like I knew what I was doing. And with the 'most improved header' belt I was convicing people that this was what I really was....a rodeo cowboy.
Well, it must have been enough 'cause the fateful time came to call a winner. (everybody voted for the best guy and girl) And lo and behold, it was my name they called out. Yep, I really pulled the wool over some people's eyes...I guess I did really look like a western cowboy though!! Never thought that I would ever say that!
In fact, I have a picture of my outfit, and as soon as I can find a scanner I'll add a photo to this here page.
'Til then....YeeeeeHaaaaa!!

A Little Inspiration

Hi everyone! To start off, I have to say that I was inspired by everyone's blogs and figured that I had to start one of my own to fit in with y'all. The complex part came when I had to think of what to title my blog. With nothing creative coming to mind, I decided to check out what other people were calling theirs. I found the Giezer Gazette, being my brother Warren and his wife Kerry's. I liked the idea, but there's only so much one can do with a last name like Giesbrecht, so unfortunately, the newspaper idea was kaput (as we say in German). I continued my search, but to my dismay, the Dowd's Daily Doodle (being my sister Bonnie and her husband Cam's) had the same theme. Changing gears, I decided to try my other side of the family, and to my satisfaction, I quickly found a popular theme among them. The most notable blog titles in this theme were my cousing Heidi's, 'Nothing But Blue Skies', and my aunt Lil's, 'A Meadow in Montrose'. Lovely I thought. These people apparently went outdoors in the place they live and were duly inspired. And so I went outside and discovered the name of my blog. It's not as pretty as aunt Lil's, nor as poetic as Heidi's, but it is northeastern BC to a T.

So, shortly after the blood returned to my numb fingers, I started this blog. I truly hope that whoever reads it will always find something interesting or inspiring or maybe just downright funny. I've so enjoyed having a glimpse into the lives of some of my family that I hope you can enjoy a glimpse of mine.

Today, being the 30th of April, as you should tell by the date posted at the top of this thing, was interesting. My brother Jeff, some of you know him, the one who turned 30 last year; the guy who had a gray hair a couple of days ago; and the one who gets really sore when he plays sports now. Yep him. He was up to his usual antics again. I happen to be going out with a lovely young lady and Jeff decided that he would help my cause in that matter (along with his wife I'm sure). Needless to say, the next time I saw her I had to be very diplomatic. But don't worry brother... I'll think of something at some point in time to even the score.

Other than that, life is going on as normal. I'm still working at Northern Metalic Sales. For the last month I've had the privilege of working in the 'back' as it's known to everyone. So I've been making hydraulic hoses and lifting cables or choker cables (Uncle Ernie...if you need any) amongst a bunch of other stuff. The greatest part is that there are two German men that work in the 'back' as well. The stuff they say is so funny sometimes, I'll have to let you know in another blog shortly.

I am also looking forward to summer. I actually got out golfing last weekend for the first time. It was a gorgeous day, about 22 degrees. But as the saying goes here, 'If you don't like the weather, just wait twenty minutes.' This weekend is just as sunny, but with a high of about 8 degrees. (that's centigrade...sorry Josh (california), I'm not to good at farenheit.)

Well, I'll cut this short for now, don't want to bore you all with the first one. But I'll leave some encourageing words to end it:

May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it. 1 Thess. 5:23,24
